Project Story
This project reimagined the traditional treehouse. Instead of suspending a structure in the canopy, we built a freestanding two-storey cabin connected by a bridge to a hexagonal deck that wraps around a mature tree.
The detailing allowed the tree to move naturally while keeping the connection secure and safe. Much of the project used reclaimed materials — framing lumber, plywood, composite decking, cedar railings and hardware — giving new life to quality materials that would otherwise have been discarded.
Selected Scope

Bridge connection to hexagonal deck
Tree-movement detailing
Reclaimed framing, decking and railings

Lockable construction

The result is a lockable, durable play space with integrated storage and a one-of-a-kind deck that embraces the trees.
