Wood Interior, Windows & Fireplace Renovation
This project combined targeted interior renovation with window upgrades and a new fireplace treatment within a heavily wood-finished home.
The existing timber character remained central to the interior, with new wood-trimmed windows integrated carefully into the tongue-and-groove walls rather than introducing a contrasting finish. The window work brought more natural light into the rooms while maintaining the material language already established throughout the house.
The living area was given a new focal point with a freestanding cylindrical wood stove, a full-height stacked-stone backdrop and a dark tiled hearth. The restrained stone and steel palette provided a deliberate contrast to the surrounding warm wood floors, walls and trim.
Rather than changing the character of the house, the work focused on introducing contemporary building elements while maintaining the strong natural-material identity of the existing interior.
