Staircase, Windows & Interior Remodelling
This renovation concentrated on the central circulation areas of the home, updating the staircase, landings, windows and adjoining interior finishes as one coordinated project.
The stairwell was substantially refreshed with natural wood handrails and newel posts, slender black metal balusters and new carpeting through the stair runs. The combination retained the warmth of wood while giving the staircase a much lighter and more contemporary appearance.
Large replacement windows at the stair landing brought considerably more daylight into what had previously been a transitional part of the house. The new openings were carefully trimmed inside and out to integrate with the existing siding and the new interior detailing.
Flooring and finish work continued through the hallways and landings, with new flooring, doors, baseboards, trim and wall finishes creating a consistent transition between levels. Unused space beneath one section of the stairs was also fitted with open built-in shelving.
The completed work turned the stair and hallway from a purely functional circulation space into a much more deliberate architectural part of the interior.
