Ocean Side Home — Interior & Entry Renovation

This project involved a series of interior and exterior upgrades to an ocean-side residence, concentrating on flooring, stairs, circulation and exterior access.
Inside, the staircase was renewed with new carpeting while retaining and refinishing the existing wood handrail and trim. New light-toned wood flooring was installed through the upper living and bedroom areas, with careful transitions where the hard flooring met the carpeted stairs.
The exterior entry was also rebuilt, creating a broad stepped landing that follows the irregular grade immediately outside the house. New decking surfaces and edge detailing provided a cleaner transition between the building and the surrounding stone and landscape.

Door and window work formed part of the exterior improvements, including a large glazed sliding opening connecting the interior with the outdoor area.
Taken together, the work refreshed several important points of movement through the house — stairs, bedroom floors and exterior entry — without unnecessarily changing the character of the existing residence.
